Our Client (Sandford Park School DAC) sought to facilitate the future growth of Sandford Park School through providing additional on-site classroom accommodation. The proposed development comprised the provision of a new double storey classroom block (including staff and student facilities) with a gross floor area of 1,334 sq m and a new state of the art all-weather playing pitch.
Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) acted as planning consultants to Sandford Park School DAC, providing strategic planning advice to the Applicant and Design Team. TPA was the key point of contact with the Planning Authority (Dublin City Council), including pre-planning meetings. TPA led all planning aspects of the proposal including: coordination of the Application Pack; preparation of the Planning Application documentation; coordination and preparation of the RFI Response; attendance at public consultation meetings and the disposal of ‘pre-commencement of development’ planning conditions (planning compliance).
TPA have also acted as planning consultants for a number of other planning applications at Sandford Park School including provision of temporary classrooms; amendments to the permitted permanent classroom block and other related applications required to facilitate ongoing improvement works. Dublin City Council issued a Notification of Decision to Grant of Permission for the scheme in November 2017, following lodgement of the planning application in September 2017. No physical changes were required to the classroom block – despite a number of third party objections – and no onerous conditions were attached.
