The proposed development sought permission for the demolition of buildings on site and the construction of a Data Storage Facility comprising 3 No. Data Storage buildings (c. 41,160 sq m in total), associated gas generator compounds and upgrade of existing 110 kV substation within an existing industrial estate at Avoca River Park, Shelton Abbey & Kilbride, Arklow, Co. Wicklow. The development site and industrial park were formerly part of the demesne of Shelton Abbey, a protected structure located to the north west.

Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) provided strategic planning advice to the Applicant and Design Team and served as the Agent for the Planning Application. TPA prepared and coordinated a detailed Planning and Environmental Report, provided a peer-review of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report and subsequently prepared a First Party Appeal Response to An Bord Pleanála. The Application was granted a 10-year permission by the Board on the 7th July 2019.
