Clogheravaddy Wind Farm

Location    Clogheravaddy, Co, Donegal

This scheme comprises a 9.2 Megawatt (MW) wind farm (four 2.3 MW wind turbines with a hub height of 64 metres and a blade diameter of 71 metres) on a c. 9.3 hectare site at Clogheravaddy, Co. Donegal. The site is located in the townland of Clogheravaddy c. 12 km north west of Donegal town, on the northern foothills of Killin Hill. The western edge of the Blue Stack Mountains, which consists of several peaks including Binbane, Cloghmeen Hill, Canrnaween Silver Hill, and Lavagh More, lies to the north-east.

Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) led the team responsible for the preparation of the planning application documentation and the Environment Impact Statement (EIS) that accompanied the application. TPA subsequently prepared the response to a third party appeal against the decision of the planning authority to grant planning permission.
